Commemorative book for football’s players’ union centenary
When the PFA celebrated its one hundredth birthday, it celebrated with a commemorative match and gala dinner in Manchester. To mark the occasion, it commissioned a souvenir book that charted the history of the players’ union.
Balance devised a decade-by decade format and worked with a football historian and our own designer, to produce a comprehensively written and illustrated account of the history of the Union and its profound influence on world football. , We managed to embed our designer in secretary Gordon Taylor’s office, where he had the freedom to search through a treasure trove of memorabilia to find artefacts and photos with which to illustrate the book.
Gordon Taylor pronounced himself very impressed with the result.
